PRODUCT NAME: Benylin Dry and Tickly Cough Syrup
VOLUME: Commonly available in 150 mL or 300 mL bottles
SUITABLE FOR: Adults and children aged 1 year and above
TYPE: Non-drowsy, soothing syrup for dry, irritating coughs

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS (per 5 mL):

• Glycerol 0.75 mL – coats and soothes the throat lining

• Sucrose 1.707 g – acts as a demulcent to ease coughing

USES (INDICATIONS):

• Relief from dry and tickly coughs caused by throat irritation

• Helps calm the cough reflex by coating the throat

HOW IT WORKS:
Glycerol and sucrose form a protective layer over the irritated throat, reducing the urge to cough and easing dryness.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

• Children 1 to 5 years: 5 mL, 3 to 4 times daily

• Children over 5 and adults: 10 mL, 3 to 4 times daily

• Maximum daily dose: Do not exceed 40 mL in 24 hours

• Shake well before use and measure using a proper spoon or cup

PRECAUTIONS:

• Not suitable for children under 1 year

• Contains sugar and small amounts of alcohol; use with caution in diabetic patients

• Do not exceed recommended dose

• If symptoms last more than 5 days, consult a doctor

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Generally well tolerated

• Rare side effects may include stomach upset or allergic skin reactions

STORAGE:

• Store below 30 degrees Celsius

• Keep bottle tightly closed and out of the reach of children
