VOLUME: Usually available in 150 mL bottles
SUITABLE FOR: Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above
TYPE: Expectorant syrup for chesty or mucus coughs

ACTIVE INGREDIENT (per 5 mL):

• Guaifenesin 100 mg – a mucus thinner that loosens phlegm in the chest, making it easier to cough up

USES (INDICATIONS):

• Relief of productive coughs with thick chest mucus

• Helps clear congestion in the chest and throat

HOW IT WORKS:
Guaifenesin works by thinning and loosening mucus in the airways, allowing it to be expelled more easily when coughing.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

• Adults and children over 12 years: 10 mL up to 4 times daily

• Maximum dose: 40 mL in 24 hours

• Do not use for more than 7 days without medical advice

• Not suitable for children under 12 years

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Mild stomach discomfort or nausea

• Headache or dizziness (rare)

• Allergic skin reactions (uncommon)

PRECAUTIONS:

• Do not take with other products containing guaifenesin

• Avoid if you have persistent or chronic cough due to smoking, asthma, or emphysema without medical supervision

• Consult your doctor if cough lasts more than 7 days or recurs frequently

• Store below 30 degrees Celsius

• Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children
