Clarityne tablet

Clarityne 10 mg Tablet is an over-the-counter antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms without causing significant drowsiness.

Indications

• Allergic rhinitis: Sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes

• Chronic urticaria: Itchy skin rash or hives

• Other allergic skin conditions

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily

• Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily, provided they weigh over 30 kg

• Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water; can be taken with or without food

• Note: For individuals with severe liver impairment, a lower initial dose is recommended. Consult a healthcare provider for appropriate dosing.

Precautions

• Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to loratadine or any component of the tablet

• Use with caution in individuals with liver disease

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult a healthcare provider before use

• Alcohol: Limit consumption, as it may increase the risk of side effects

• Skin testing: Discontinue use 48 hours prior to allergy skin tests, as it may interfere with results

 Possible Side Effects

• Common: Headache, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness (rare), stomach upset

• Serious (less common): Liver enzyme changes or jaundice, allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing

 Storage

• Store at room temperature, below 25°C, away from moisture and direct sunlight

• Keep out of reach of children

• Do not use after the expiry date on the packaging
