Combigan Eye Drop

What it is:
Combigan is a prescription eye drop that contains two active ingredients—brimonidine and timolol. It is used to lower high pressure inside the eye, mainly for conditions like open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

How it works:

• Brimonidine reduces the production of fluid inside the eye and helps increase fluid drainage.

• Timolol is a beta-blocker that decreases the amount of fluid made inside the eye.
  Together, they help lower intraocular pressure to protect the optic nerve and prevent vision loss.

How to use:

• Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, about 12 hours apart.

• Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface.

• Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes after applying and gently press the inner corner to reduce drainage.

• If using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before applying Combigan.

Precautions:

• Do not use if you have asthma, severe lung disease, certain heart problems, or allergies to its ingredients.

• Avoid wearing contact lenses during use as it contains preservatives that may discolor lenses. Remove lenses before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

• May cause drowsiness, so be careful when driving or operating machinery.

Possible side effects:

• Eye irritation, burning, redness, or dryness

• Headache or dizziness

• Fatigue or drowsiness

• Allergic reactions like rash or swelling (rare)

Important tips:

• Use exactly as prescribed and do not skip doses.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for the next dose.

• Regular eye check-ups are necessary to monitor your eye pressure and treatment progress.

• Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat; do not freeze.
