Griseofulvin Suspension 125ml

Griseofulvin is an oral antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails, especially when topical treatments are not effective. It is commonly used in children for scalp ringworm (tinea capitis).

Indications

• Ringworm (tinea corporis)

• Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis)

• Fungal scalp infections (tinea capitis)

• Fungal nail infections (tinea unguium)

Dosage and Use

• Children: 10–15 mg/kg once or twice daily

• Adults: 500–1000 mg/day

• Take with fatty food (milk, buttered bread) to improve absorption

• Shake the bottle well before each use

• Continue treatment for several weeks as advised by a healthcare provider

Precautions

• Not suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, or those with liver disease

• May cause nausea, headache, dizziness, or skin rashes

• Avoid excessive sunlight; the medicine may cause photosensitivity

• Can interact with alcohol, birth control pills, and blood thinners

Storage

• Store at room temperature

• Keep tightly closed and away from sunlight or moisture

• Use within the prescribed period; discard any expired suspension
