Otrivin Adult Nasal Drops (0.1%)

Active Ingredient

• Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1%

• A decongestant that shrinks swollen nasal blood vessels, opening airways quickly.

Uses

• Fast relief from nasal congestion caused by:

  • Cold or flu

  • Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)

  • Sinusitis

  • Dust or smoke irritation

Dosage & Directions

• For adults and children over 12 years

• 2–3 drops in each nostril, up to 3 times daily

• Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days

• Tilt head back, apply drops, and keep head tilted for a few minutes

• Gently blow nose before application

Effectiveness

• Starts working in 2–5 minutes

• Lasts up to 10 hours

Precautions

• Do not use if you have:

  • Heart problems, high blood pressure, thyroid disorder, glaucoma, or diabetes

  • A history of nasal surgery or if you’re taking MAO inhibitors

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed

• Overuse can cause rebound congestion (worsening blockage after stopping)

Possible Side Effects

• Dryness or burning in the nose

• Sneezing, headache, or nausea

• Rarely: dizziness, irregular heartbeat, or increased blood pressure

Storage

• Keep in a cool, dry place below 30°C

• Close tightly after use

• Keep out of reach of children
