Main Ingredient:

• Norethisterone 5 mg
  (A synthetic form of the hormone progesterone)

Uses:

• To regulate menstrual cycles

• Treats heavy or painful periods

• Used for premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

• Treats endometriosis

• Helps to delay menstruation for special events

• Manages dysfunctional uterine bleeding

Dosage: (As prescribed by a doctor)

• For period delay: 5 mg three times daily, starting 3 days before expected period, for up to 14 days

• For menstrual disorders: 5 mg 2–3 times daily, from day 16 to 25 of the cycle

• For endometriosis: Start with 5 mg twice daily, may increase to 10 mg twice daily, for 4–6 months

How It Works:

Norethisterone mimics the natural hormone progesterone, helping to stabilize the uterine lining, delay ovulation, and prevent abnormal bleeding.

Common Side Effects:

• Bloating, nausea, or stomach discomfort

• Breast tenderness, acne, or headache

• Mood changes, irritability, or tiredness

• Weight gain or water retention

Serious Side Effects / Precautions:

• Blood clots (signs: leg pain, chest pain, shortness of breath)

• Liver issues (jaundice, pain under ribs)

• Vision changes, speech disturbance, or migraine aura

• Should NOT be used in:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • History of blood clots or stroke

  • Severe liver disease

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure

  • Known hormone-sensitive cancers

Warnings:

• Stop medication 4 weeks before surgery

• Use with caution in smokers, diabetics, or those with depression

• Avoid alcohol and certain enzyme-inducing medications which may reduce effectiveness

• Not a contraceptive unless used as part of a birth control plan
