Form: Oral liquid
Category: Expectorant, bronchodilator, and mucolytic combination for productive (wet) cough

Indications

• Relieves productive (wet) cough associated with cold, bronchitis, asthma, or COPD

• Loosens thick mucus and phlegm, making it easier to cough out

• Eases bronchospasm and improves airflow in congested airways

Key Ingredients & Actions

• Ambroxol Hydrochloride (30 mg): Breaks down and thins mucus for easier clearance

• Guaifenesin (50 mg): Expectorant that promotes coughing out of mucus

• Salbutamol (2 mg): Relaxes airway muscles to relieve bronchospasm and wheezing

• Menthol (1 mg): Soothes throat and provides a cooling effect

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: 5 mL, 3–4 times daily

• Children over 12 years: Use under medical guidance

• Shake well before use and measure with appropriate spoon or cup

• Take at consistent intervals, with or without food

Mechanism of Action

• Ambroxol and guaifenesin work together to reduce mucus viscosity and support its expulsion

• Salbutamol acts on β2-receptors in the lungs to open the airways

• Menthol provides symptomatic relief by calming irritation in the throat

Side Effects & Precautions

• Common: Nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, palpitations

• May cause tremors or muscle cramps due to salbutamol

• Use cautiously in patients with heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or seizures

• Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor

Contraindications

• Known allergy to any component

• Not suitable for children under 12 unless prescribed

• Avoid if patient has uncontrolled hypertension or tachyarrhythmia

Storage

• Store below 30°C in a dry, cool place

• Keep away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children

Advice to Patients

• Stay well-hydrated to aid mucus clearance

• Do not exceed recommended dose

• Monitor for signs of tremor, chest pain, or rapid heartbeat

• Discontinue if symptoms worsen or persist beyond 7 days
