Mechanism of Action
Desloratadine is a non-sedating, long-acting antihistamine that selectively inhibits peripheral H₁ receptors. By blocking histamine’s action, it alleviates symptoms of allergic reactions without causing significant drowsiness.
Indications
Aerius Syrup is used for relief of symptoms associated with:
-
Allergic Rhinitis: Such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy palate, and itchy, red or watery eyes.
-
Urticaria (Hives): Including itching and hives.
It is suitable for use in both adults and children aged 1 year and older.

Children 1–5 years: 2.5 ml once daily.
-
Children 6–11 years: 5 ml once daily.

Adults and adolescents (12 years and older): 10 ml once daily.
The syrup can be taken with or without food. It is recommended to swallow the dose and then drink some water. Use a measuring syringe or spoon for accurate dosing.
