Promethazine Syrup

Promethazine Syrup is an antihistamine used to treat allergies, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes cough or motion sickness.

Uses:

• Allergic conditions (runny nose, sneezing, rashes)

• Motion sickness

• Nausea and vomiting

• Sedation (used before or after surgery in some cases)

• Sometimes included in cough syrups (with codeine or dextromethorphan)

Common Side Effects:

• Drowsiness or sedation

• Dizziness

• Dry mouth

• Blurred vision

• Rare: confusion or hallucinations (especially in children)

Precautions:

• Not recommended for children under 2 years

• Use caution in the elderly and people with asthma, glaucoma, or liver disease

• May cause excessive drowsiness; avoid driving

How to Use:

• Taken by mouth, usually 2–4 times daily depending on condition

• Use a measuring spoon for accurate dosing
