Uses:

Mechanism of Action:
Aldactone works by blocking aldosterone receptors in the kidneys. Aldosterone normally signals the kidneys to retain sodium and water and excrete potassium. By blocking aldosterone, Aldactone promotes the excretion of sodium and water while conserving potassium, thereby reducing fluid buildup and preventing potassium loss.

Dosage and Administration:
The dosage depends on the condition being treated and patient response. For edema, initial doses often start at 25-100 mg daily, divided into one or two doses. For hypertension, the dose usually ranges from 50-100 mg daily. For hormonal conditions, dosing may vary and requires medical supervision. It is important to take Aldactone with food to improve absorption.
