What is DuoTrav?
DuoTrav is a prescription eye drop used to lower raised pressure in the eyes, particularly in patients with:
-
Open-angle glaucoma
-
Ocular hypertension
It is used when a single medication isn’t enough to control the pressure.
Active Ingredients
Each mL contains:
-
Travoprost 0.004% – a prostaglandin analog
-
Timolol 0.5% – a non-selective beta-blocker
Together, they work by:
-
Travoprost: Increases the outflow of fluid from the eye.
-
Timolol: Decreases the production of fluid inside the eye.
Dosage and Administration
-
One drop in the affected eye once daily, preferably at the same time each day (morning or evening).
-
Do not use more than once daily, as overuse may reduce effectiveness.
-
Remove contact lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
-
If using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between each medication.
