Sudafed Syrup

Composition:

• Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (usually 30 mg per 5 ml)

• May include antihistamines like chlorpheniramine in combination types

Uses:

• Relief of nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and sinus pressure

• Used in common cold, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis

Dosage:

• Children 6–12 years: 5–10 ml every 6–8 hours

• Adults: 10 ml every 6 hours

• Maximum: Not more than 4 doses per 24 hours

Prescription Status:

• OTC (Over the Counter) in many countries

• May be prescription-controlled in some regions due to pseudoephedrine regulations
