Amoksiklav 1.2g Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It combines amoxicillin, a penicillin-class antibiotic, with clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, to enhance its effectiveness against resistant bacteria.

Composition

• Active Ingredients:

  • Amoxicillin sodium equivalent to 1000mg of amoxicillin

  • Potassium clavulanate equivalent to 200mg of clavulanic acid

Indications

Amoksiklav 1.2g Injection is used to treat:

• Severe respiratory tract infections

• Urinary tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Intra-abdominal infections

• Pelvic infections

• Dental infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Prevention of infections during and after surgery

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and Children ≥40kg:

  • 1.2g every 8 hours

  • For severe infections, every 6 hours

• Children (3 months and older):

  • 25mg/5mg per kg body weight every 8 hours

  • For severe infections, every 6 hours

• Administration:

  • Reconstitute the powder with sterile water for injection

  • Administer intravenously over 3-4 minutes or via infusion over 30-40 minutes

Side Effects

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash

• Serious: Allergic reactions, liver dysfunction, blood disorders

• Note: Consult a healthcare professional if side effects persist or worsen

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins

• History of jaundice or liver dysfunction associated with amoxicillin/clavulanate

• Severe renal impairment without dose adjustment

Storage

• Before Reconstitution:

  • Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C

• After Reconstitution:

  • Use immediately or store in the refrigerator (2-8°C) for up to 24 hours

  • Do not freeze
