Product Overview
Each capsule contains 500 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate, a widely used penicillin-type antibiotic.
Supplied in blister packs containing 21 capsules, ideal for a full 7-day treatment course (taken three times daily).
Capsules are typically hard gelatin and may be colored (e.g., red/yellow or white) depending on the manufacturer.

Indications
Amoxicillin 500 mg capsules are used to treat:

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis)

• ENT infections (sinusitis, otitis media)

• Urinary tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Dental abscesses and infections

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and children over 40 kg: 500 mg every 8 hours (three times daily).

• Children under 40 kg should be given amoxicillin suspension based on weight.

• Capsules can be taken with or without food; taking with food may reduce gastrointestinal upset.

• Always complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Contraindications and Precautions

• Do not use in patients with known allergy to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics.

• Use with caution in people with renal impairment; dose may need adjustment.

• Monitor for signs of allergic reactions or prolonged diarrhea.

Side Effects
Common side effects include:

Mechanism of Action
