Composition

• Candesartan cilexetil – 16 mg per tablet

Uses

• Treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 1 to 17 years

• Manages heart failure in adults with left ventricular systolic dysfunction

• Reduces risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack

Dosage

• Adults: 16 mg once daily, with or without food

• Children (1–17 years): Starting dose varies by weight and age, typically 8–16 mg daily

• Maximum dose: 32 mg daily

• Dose adjustments may be needed for kidney problems or when used with diuretics

Side Effects

• Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially on standing

• Back pain

• Cold or flu-like symptoms such as sore throat or nasal congestion

• Increased potassium levels

• Changes in kidney function

Precautions

• Avoid use during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters

• Not recommended for infants under 1 year old

• Use with caution in kidney or liver disease
