Amlodipine 10mg tablet

Amlodipine 10mg is a long-acting calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina). It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing the heart’s workload.

Appearance and Packaging

• Tablet form: Usually white, round, and biconvex

• Markings: Often scored with the number “10” debossed on one side

• Packaging: Commonly available in blister packs or plastic bottles

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: Usually 5mg to 10mg once daily

• Children (6–17 years): Starting dose is 2.5mg, may be increased to 5mg

• Taken orally, with or without food

Common Side Effects

• Swelling in ankles (edema)

• Dizziness, headache, fatigue

• Flushing and nausea

Precautions

• Use with caution in liver disease or heart conditions

• Avoid in people with severe low blood pressure or allergic reactions to amlodipine

• May cause dizziness; avoid driving if affected
