Amoksiklav 625mg Tablet

Amoksiklav 625 mg is a film-coated oral antibiotic tablet containing amoxicillin 500 mg and clavulanic acid 125 mg. It works by killing bacteria and preventing resistance through the action of clavulanic acid.

Uses

It is used to treat respiratory infections such as sinusitis, pneumonia, and ear infections, as well as urinary tract infections, skin infections, dental infections, and bone and joint infections.

Dosage

Adults and children weighing 40 kg or more typically take one tablet every 8 hours, or three times daily. Duration of treatment depends on the severity of the infection and doctor’s advice.

Tablet Features

Oval, white to off-white, biconvex film-coated tablet with a score line. Some brands may have an imprint such as “AC” or similar.

Precautions

Do not use if allergic to penicillin or clavulanic acid, or if there has been liver trouble or jaundice with antibiotic use before. Use with caution in people with mononucleosis or certain blood cancers.

Side Effects

Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, and headache. Serious but rare effects may include liver damage, severe allergic reactions, or antibiotic-associated colitis.

Storage

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place. Keep in original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use if tablets are damaged or expired.
