Each 5 mL of reconstituted suspension contains

Indications

Amoxinate 457 mg suspension is used to treat bacterial infections such as

  • Sinusitis

  • Ear infections like otitis media

  • Sore throat and tonsillitis

  • Bronchitis and pneumonia

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Dental and bone infections


Dosage and Administration

Children 2 months and older under 40 kg

  • Usual dose ranges from 22.5 to 90 mg of amoxicillin per kg per day

  • Divide the total dose into two doses per day

  • Dosing depends on severity of infection

Adults and children over 40 kg

  • Typical dose is two to three times per day

  • Total daily dose may reach up to 1750 mg amoxicillin and 250 mg clavulanic acid

Reconstitution instructions
1 Add about two thirds of the required water to the powder
2 Shake well to dissolve
3 Add the remaining water and shake vigorously again
4 Store in a refrigerator
5 Use within 7 to 10 days

Best taken with food to reduce stomach upset and improve effectiveness


Contraindications and Precautions

Do not use if the patient is allergic to penicillin cephalosporin or clavulanic acid
Avoid in patients with past liver problems caused by similar medicines
Monitor kidney and liver function during extended treatment
